Plane:
Dusseldorf international airport is the 3rd largest airport in Germany after Frankfurt and Berlin.
It is located approximately 50 km southwest of Bochum.
Trains between the airport and Bochum are frequent. Travel time is approximately 30-40 minutes.

 

Train:
Several high-speed ICE trains serve the Bochum central station and the surrounding area.
Bochum central station is 2 hours from Frankfurt, 2,5 hours from Amsterdam, 4 hours from Berlin and 5 hours from Paris.
In addition the Rhine Ruhr region has a local rail network.

 

Car:
Motorist arriving from the North or South should take the A43 and exit west on Universitätsstraße.
Motorists arriving from the East (A44) or the West (A40) should exit south on A43, and then exit west on Universitätsstraße.

 

Public transport:
Bochum central station is located in the city center. It serves as a hub for several tram and metro lines that serve the city.
The University can be reached from the city center with the U35 metro line in approximately 10 minutes.
